Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how Hearth & Co operates the online store, handles orders, and sets customer expectations before launch and during the limited soft-launch period.
These terms are written for Hearth & Co’s South African online store and do not limit any rights you have under applicable South African law.
Business details
The store is operated by Hearth & Co (Pty) Ltd, a South African private company with registration number 2026/543457/07.
Hearth & Co is not VAT registered at launch. Customer-facing prices must not be read as VAT-inclusive prices charged by Hearth & Co.
All prices on this website are shown in South African Rand (ZAR).
Support is available by email at support@hearthco.co.za.
Using this website
You may use this website to browse products, read guidance, create an account, place orders, and request support. You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, or submit false, unlawful, or misleading information.
Product information
Hearth & Co aims to publish accurate, useful product information. Product specifications, compatibility information, images, availability, delivery estimates, warranties, and supplier details can change. We may correct errors, update product information, or remove products where information is incomplete or no longer reliable.
Product guidance is general ecommerce guidance. It is not professional electrical, security, medical, health, building, insurance, or other specialist advice.
Orders and acceptance
Placing an order does not mean the order is finally accepted for fulfilment. An order may still need payment confirmation, fraud and risk review, stock confirmation, supplier fulfilment confirmation, and address/serviceability checks.
If an order cannot be fulfilled, Hearth & Co will contact you using the details supplied during checkout and will explain the available options, which may include cancellation and refund where appropriate.
Payments
Payments are processed through PayFast or another approved payment provider shown at checkout. Hearth & Co does not see or store your full card details.
Refunds at launch may be processed manually through the payment provider dashboard. Refund timing may depend on the payment provider, banking rails, and any checks required for the specific order.
Delivery, returns and warranties
Delivery, returns, refunds, faults, and warranty handling are governed by these terms together with the dedicated Delivery, Returns & Refunds, and Warranty pages.
Hearth & Co remains your customer-support contact even where a supplier or courier performs part of the fulfilment process.
Account responsibility
If you create an account, keep your login details secure and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for making sure the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — including text, images, graphics, logos, and buying guides — is owned by or licensed to Hearth & Co (Pty) Ltd, except product images, brand names, and trademarks, which remain the property of the relevant supplier or manufacturer. You may view and download content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not reproduce, republish, or otherwise exploit any content from this website without Hearth & Co's prior written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hearth & Co's total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Hearth & Co is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or a product bought through it.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, or liability for gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by Hearth & Co's negligence.
Dispute resolution
If a dispute arises, please contact support@hearthco.co.za first so Hearth & Co can try to resolve it directly. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, you may have the right to refer it to the National Consumer Commission or another applicable consumer protection body under the Consumer Protection Act, or to pursue the matter through the South African courts.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this website is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
Changes to these terms
Hearth & Co may update these terms as the store, supplier terms, payment setup, legal requirements, or launch scope changes. The updated version applies from the date shown on this page.
